New Patients

Your first visits, explained

Starting care should feel clear and collaborative. We take time to understand what brings you in, what you have already tried, and what you want to return to doing.

Visit 1 — Evaluation and initial care

Your first visit begins with a conversation about your symptoms, health history, previous treatment, daily activities, and goals. Your provider will perform an appropriate examination based on your concerns.

If there are no contraindications and treatment is appropriate, care may begin during the first visit. If imaging, additional testing, or medical evaluation is indicated, we will discuss that before proceeding with care that may not be appropriate.

Visit 2 — Results, education, and plan

At the next visit, we review how you responded, explain relevant findings, answer questions, and discuss factors that may be contributing to the problem. If continued care is appropriate, recommendations are individualized rather than based on a predetermined schedule.

Our goal is for you to understand why something is being recommended and to participate in decisions about your care.

Before your appointment

  • Complete any forms sent through IntakeQ before your visit.

  • Bring relevant imaging or records if the office has asked you to provide them.

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows the area of concern to be evaluated.

  • If you are unsure what to bring or wear, call the office before your appointment.

What happens during the examination?

The examination is tailored to your concern and may include observation of movement, range-of-motion or strength testing, orthopedic or neurological screening, vital signs, or other clinically appropriate measures.

Not every patient needs the same examination, imaging, laboratory testing, or treatment. Recommendations depend on the individual findings.
